Hey darling! My name is Brianna Smyles and welcome to my page.
Planning was something I discovered I loved to do while in college. Finding joy in bringing happiness to everyone in my life has always been a part of me. These aspects have married beautifully in my life through curating meaningful and impactful events for people.
With two degrees in engineering, a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Industrial & Systems Engineering: Engineering Management, I found my passion and second career in event planning. Sounds crazy right? But I assure you there is a clear pathway.

Connecting Engineering to Event Planning
In engineering school, we are taught to approach everything in life as a problem that can be improved and fixed with the right tools and knowledge. We are also taught that every problem is unique and requires a unique approach every single time. Though there are guiding principles, formulas, and rules, there purpose is no more than an outline and the assumptions of operating in a perfect state. However, nothing operates in a perfect state as there exist added factors and environmental contributions. This is how we get that unique problem, unique solution approach.
For me, what I learned is I enjoyed the process of planning out my unique approach to working to solve these unique problems. The process of executing my plan was satisfying knowing my plan worked. But in engineering, the final product is usually a device or system that only provides a numeric response back to me that does not portray an emotion.
Que in weddings and events! Approaching weddings and events with an analytics mindset, I can help my clients take their dream event (a unique problem) and transform it into a memorable experience (a unique solution). Taking all of their wants and needs while understanding what their limitations are, I can help my clients see nothing is impossible to achieve, you just need to view it from a different approach.
I get the most excitement out of executing the plan developed specifically for my client’s event. They are relaxed knowing that the event of their dreams is unfolding while I enjoy watching a unique problem turn into a unique memorable experience. Unlike a device or system with no emotional response or feedback, I now receive warm thanks and gratitude from fulfilled customers.
